I was under the impression that they went annual to annual without needing much.

Nobody at my home base works on Avantis. If I had to wait for parts or fly to another field for MX I wouldn’t own that airplane.

No doubt the parts and maint thing is a major consideration, and its what has had me on the edge on this deal since the beginning. The mitts has been 800 hrs of bulletproof awesome ness. The few things that needed replaced were a fedex away.
Most old planes seem to have some version of the parts rain dance on at least a few items.
That said, flying, for me, is mainly a business tool that I enjoy sinking personal time into. I get to pursue my passion while having a more convenient way to accomplish more work in shorter amounts of time. Between training, maintenance, etc I spend a lot of my free time already managing my airplane. I am currently at a place in my life where I don’t mind that. I drive to the airport with my son and watch planes take off and land on weekends. I just love all things flight.
I enjoy learning about the planes, hanging with the mechanics, tracking down things if needed. I know that’s not for everyone.
Just shopping for another plane has been a great experience for me thus far. I have learned so much. And as with all things aviation, the ‘reality’ of any type is often dependent on how much digging you do.
I am sure it won’t be a perfect experience but I am sure it will be fun, and clipping 400 kts is worth a lot of hassle imo!

Fly a piaggio sometime, you will be impressed. Basically 2 pc12 engines yet it can go further per pound of fuel up high. Crazy. Take it to 41000ft and you can do 350kts on 450lbs/hr

Fly a piaggio sometime, you will be impressed. I love the Piaggio. After you tell me it’s been no problem to manage I’ll go buy one. It’s my favorite airplane. But like I said...... that’s not my issue with it.
I just looked them up and some are asking $3.5MM. For me anything over $3MM I’d buy a used CJ3 that I can get serviced at home base and call it.
I’m itching to move up from the Pilatus. It’s slower than the other options but I spend zero time sourcing parts, working with mechanics, calculating WB or doing anything but flying it. Therefore it’s faster then all the other options IMO .

Buy a spare nose gear wheel assembly and leave it in the front compartment. Thats what A Canadian operator would do as its a one of a kind wheel that you cant find anywere. They have 2 and they love them, they would go from Quebec city to Vancouver non stop. That was about 5-6 years ago so not sure if they still have them. It’s no where close to 3mm!! For 3mm I am flying something else.
Here is what panel will end up being. That’s amazing but did you dislike the proline that was in there so much? Does adding the Garmin make servicing it more difficult?

Here is what panel will end up being. That is what I have in my TBM. I wouldn't trade G1000Nxi for it. You will love it. What is the AP? Are you upgrading that too?

Apologies for the thread drift. Ah. That could be. I don’t know the difference either.

Username Protected wrote: What are the runway requirements for the Piaggio? Real ones that is. One operates out of Palo Alto. Good illustration of what it “can” do. Full gross, hot day, you need more than that. Full gross is close to 1500 lbs payload after full fuel though. It’s better than most small jets, not as good as PC12.
