Would like to know this as well, also, did you forgo static wicks?

Who is that getting into your plane as you're filming? 4. What is the cockpit mockup in front of your plane? Looks very similar to the Lancair but a trapezoidal back window instead of an oval one. And oh yeah, suhweeeeeet ride. It was pretty fun to say that it was my plane, I can't lie, hehe. Not sure who that guys was walking up though. I was amazed at how many people kept pulling down the chain that I had up to deter people from climbing on, lol. Hehe, the TBM's looked like giants next to my plane, and I really think there is a lot of room inside my cabin for 4 people. The mockup is RDD's demo of their LX7 conversion for the Lancair 4P. It's actually a really cool idea and one that I think will breath life back into that airplane line. Thank you for the compliment

Would like to know this as well, also, did you forgo static wicks? No, the static wicks were removed for the show so they weren't accidentally broken.

it's a nuisance and annoys those with OCD Buy some construction floor protector: http://tinyurl.com/z2n6f2rIt is like heavy duty plastic wrap. It has just enough sticky on it to stick to the screens without leaving any residue. 24" x 200' is enough to last a lifetime. I use it when working around areas of the plane that I don't want to accidentally scratch. i.e. I will put it on my instrument panel when I need to remove a radio tray so the tray does not scratch the panel. Looks like the perfect plane to race Reno this year, better hurry, the rookie school starts shortly. Seriously it's a beauty and a beautiful paint job.
Three or four years ago we were in Branson, MO in the fall and the Lancair group was there for a convention/fly-in. I had the 185 tied down next to the terminal and went by to check on the plane. Found the group standing and sitting under the wings of the 185 out of the hot sun. They liked the fire engine red paint job on it. Great group of people and we had a nice time visiting with them. Several days later when we left Branson the FBO lady gave me a note. One of the group wanted to buy the 185, said he had been looking for a nice one for several years. I've owned it 40 years and it's not for sale, it's part of the family after all those years. Ron

Had a chance to play with some performance on the Evo this week. We had full fuel (including aux tank) two adults and two kids and full baggage. I didn't realize one of my pictures didn't turn out until after the fact. Oh well. There is a known indication error at higher speeds but don't know exactly how much that is on my plane. RDD claims they saw top speeds of 320ktas in my plane. I'd believe it for lighter flights. Otherwise they say it's somewhere between 10-15kts. So, for example, in my one photo it says 300 ktas where as it should possibly be 310-315ktas. on ~30gph I was cruising at about 270 ktas Attachment: 4-2.jpg ~35 gph Attachment: 3.jpg Attachment: 3-2.jpg ~38 gph Attachment: 2.jpg Attachment: 2-2.jpg Max ITT (750) Attachment: 1.jpg Attachment: 1-2.jpg

That garmin g3 touch looks awesome. So insane that is not certified. The G3X is an amazing system. So happy I went that route!
