Depends on weight. The plane has a pretty wide range of weight with 2400 lb UL. So typically I put 263 KTAS in the flight plan, but on the lighter side seeing up to about 268 at normal cruise settings. If you run by ITT easily in the 270's. We just use the normal power settings, though, there is an app (actually a couple) for that. The apps do underestimate TAS, because they take them from the POH which, like I said earlier is 6-8 knots slower than real world. :-)

What an absolutely gorgeous bird Charles. Having a partner on a bird like that is fantastic. I would love to work out a similar arrangement here but the pool of highly active pilots here is very small..

Airliners are incredibly capable

Airlines aren’t particularly reliable and the number of moving parts is amazing. My best example: crj900 with captain, FO, two flight attendants. One FA calls fatigued for 0600 departure from small city. Flight cancelled. Pilots and remaining FA fly empty plane to big city as planned, get reserve FA and continue their day.

The basic med thing intrigues me. I can see myself going there one day. Here she is running at FL180. 261 KTAS, burning 335 pph. That would give a range of over 1000 nm with reserves. I think it is the ultimate basic med plane. Can't think of one that has better combination of range payload and speed below FL180. A few years down the line, can pick one of these up pretty well priced.

I'll admit to combing Controller after your first post on this thread, looking for an M600 with all of 650 hours on it. What you got for the trade is not material to me but I am curious as to the price it was/is offered for sale by the dealer. Trading up is unjustifiable for me given how much I'm currently flying, but reading your posts makes me envious.

That is a good point. Have always been the mindset of running things a little on the soft side. In the case of the turbine, this one is pretty de-rated, and at least at this time we have the engine under warranty and on plans ESP Gold, so probably doesn't make sense to trade Hobbs times for slightly reduced wear.

I have always thought that the Meridian was the ultimate owner funded airplane! Jets are great but I couldn't ever afford it if its main purpose wasn't for business. But a Meridian might just be in reach for me, I know a TBM does a little bit more but they are a lot more money for a little more performance, range and useful load - for me the Meridian hits a sweet spot.

So being a two owner plane, how do you'll handle maintenance, how many hours are you'll each allowed to fly, what about scheduling conflicts etc?
