I can engine start in the KA, the Nxi is fine with it, the GWX-75 and strike finder and other line modules are NOT ok with it and require cycling the CB

The checklist says to turn off avionics prior to battery engine start and leave on for GPU start. No change there. However, with NXi the avionics don’t drop off during a battery start like they did prior to NXi when left on. Not sure why the difference other than NXi seems to have a smaller electrical draw.

I start with nxi on all the time. Zero issues.

Same in the Phenom, Battery on turns avionics on and they stay on until shut down. Having just put in the NXi, I'm blown away by how much faster it is to boot and do just about anything.

The Phenom does this as it has a Quiet Start Contactor that splits the two batteries for start up - it dedicates one battery to start and one battery to avionics to eliminate black/brown outs.

We don’t have the ability in either of our Citations to keep the avionics on during engine start. We are stuck waiting for the Primus and ProLine to boot up after engine start.

That would be a nice feature to have and certainly adds to the ‘Positives’ column when trying to find the perfect light jet

Hmm. I would love to be able to start 1 engine, turn on the avionics, taxi on the 1 engine, then start the second engine prior to takeoff without losing the avionics. I'm willing to give it a try unless someone thinks I'll break something. C501SP with dual G600 and dual GTN750 (not Xi models). The Garmins seem to be pretty resilient to rapid power cycling (during my EMER bus check every flight the primary G600 and secondary GTN750 are powered quite briefly) but that isn't the same as a voltage dip/brownout situation.
