I've been seeing them do splash-and-goes out on the flats in the bay lately. Looks like a lot of fun. I might have to see if I can get a demo ride one of these days.

That's what their website says. Maybe you can go for a shorter time than 1.5 hours.

They aren't marketing to pilots. Their prospects don't know the difference in light sport. They are talking about the thrill of getting a drivers license. And their audience are younger "experience" seekers. There is a lot of hype in this whole deal but they are also on to something that no other GA manufacturer, except possibly Cirrus, even understands.

Probably the same stuff they have been for years.

I wonder what waiver you have to sign for a demo flight.

$400/hr to get your license? In a novelty boat that flies? :coffee:

I think they are charging $600 to keep a bunch of old farts from trying to get free demo rides. Tony is right. We are not their market and they don't want to waste time arguing useful load, CG & how it compares to an MU2. If you are really in love with it and serious about buying one, you will pay $600 to take a long ride in it. Makes sense to me.

Based on their specs, that's $12k for an LSA cert. How's about getting a ppl, most of your instrument and then ASES instead. Then, get checked out in that jet ski.

That's about like paying full price for only 1/3. Maybe some are really that stupid. :beechslap:

The market for this airplane is not the majority of pilots on BT that have 10-15yrs of flying left in them, it's in the new generation of pilots who think flying is too expensive or out of reach, or will result in owning a maintenance ridden old spam can airplane with cloth curtains and analog instruments

As a newcomer to aviation, this is mostly what you see, cirrus is a breath of fresh air but the costs of entry (experience and ratings) is steep, $12k for LSA being only 5% of the whole airplane cost is easy to swallow

Notice how none of their marketing material has a 60yr old pilot behind the controls? No, a young guy with a girl is what they are selling

But most 60 year olds think they can again be that young guy with the girl if only they had the right airplane.

I don't care what the percentage of whole airplane cost is...12-15k for a LSA license is just silly!
