Thought I could buy it for ~190-200K, wasn't sure what additional costs I would incur in the first 2-3 years and so held off. Just curious what you actually spent getting the plane to the point it is now, if you wouldn't mind sharing....my fear was that turbine maintenance expenses would come in bigger chunks than piston expenses, although operating expenses might be similar vs a piston twin. Would love it if you would share with the class!

Jeff,
The only money I spent was to replace the flap relays and set up wiring for the battery minders. I also bought a table and a frame for the cabin. I paid more than what you stated but they fixed everything. Currently zero squawks. As far as future expenses, only time will tell. The 600 hour is due at the end of the year so that one may cost $10k. I have a spare co pilot windshield and starter generator, a fresh 100 hour and 1200 hours to go before HSI. I'll get back to the thread in a few years and break down actual expenses. Hopefully it'll be cheap enough to keep my smile from ear to ear at FL220 and 260kts burning 60gph.....

Why did he get two minuses? Reasonable questions in my opinion.
The expenses do come in bigger chunks, but there are far fewer chunks. Piston twins are constantly in need of something a grand or two. MU2s are seldom in need of something 5k.
Pick your poison. Opex for me has been the same on both my A* and Solitaire, but on the Solitaire it's much less pain in the ass.

It was $10K to replace the windshield on my P337 FWIW. I think the MU2 plex windshields are roughly that to replace. The glass ones, on the other hand, are way more, think $40K. I'm happy to have the plex kind in my plane. 7 years and 900 hours later, they seem like they are doing just fine with no indication they are close to replacement. Mike C.

It was $10K to replace the windshield on my P337 FWIW. You have a really nice looking plane though, congratulations. Thanks Jeff. I have a new co pilot windshield that came with the plane. its 40 hours to replace ($3800). It meets specs now so we will keep an eye on it and do it when needed.
