FYI, I did my PP in a 78 AA-5B. LOVE them.
I looked at getting one when I decided to buy, but the prices were high for the avionics compared to other planes.
The second airplane I owned was a 1978 Grumman Tiger, N28718, in the late 80's. It was the first low wing airplane I ever flew. A really fun little airplane. I bought it for $28,000 and sold it in August of 1990 for $30,000 to Harold Fischer (

I see Tigers every week. I live at the airpark where Fletchair is located. (

The more I think about this low time Tiger, the price isn't crazy. It's going to take the right buyer for sure, You can zero time an engine or re-do a panel on any airplane, but you can't zero-time an airframe on a Tiger or most other airplanes. If it has been hangared it's whole life and has no damage history or corrosion, what would a new Tiger sell for today, if they were being made? $500,000 minimum if a Cessna 172 sells for $450,000.
To put it in perspective, how much of a premium would an always hangared 27 hour 1990 Mooney 252 or a 1997 Mooney Encore sell for today, even if it had the original panel?
