I would like to see a Meyers 200 with a 300hp diesel. 200kts on 12gph. Run off road diesel or biofuel or combination. Leave exhaust trail smelling like McDonalds fries.

Walter Extra sold the rights to some Chinese conglomerate and nobody's heard a word since. Not sure how many were built, but probably less than 10. IFR certified in Europe, but was never FAA certified for instruments, so if you fly one here you can only do VFR.

I’d love to see a new budget piston twin.
Think pressurized DA62 but with none of the bells and whistles.
Certify it with a steam gauge 6 pack then do G3X and Dynon as factory STCs so the buyer can choose what level of which system they want at order.
TSIO550 engines. I know blasphemy but they really are the best option if you want certified. Maybe offer an EAB owner assist version with single fired diesels or automotive gas engines. I’d be fine with two MB diesels, LS engines, or even better Wankels running in pure automotive form but you can’t get that certified and the changes you’d have to make to get them certified would make them cost more than a TSIO550.
The objective should be to get 200KTAS in the low flight levels, pressurized, for less than $200k fly away cost. That will put the pressure on every other airframe to bring costs down.

The relevant question is “is that what it has to cost to get into the sky or is that what it costs because of the cost of things that are not absolutely essential to get it into the sky?”
How much would a Cirrus cost if it was just the airframe, engine, and the equipment listed in 91.205?

Airplanes aren’t expensive because of equipment. They are expensive because of liability!

I would like to have a modern version of the Seabee. excellent water handling, very roomy. handles rough water well and has the best reversing prop available. as you can slowly run it from forward to reverse controlling the thrust as you want like an automatic transmission. perhaps with tricycle gear. actually there is a version certified that will meet the requirements https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trident_TR-1_Trigull

Something like the P210, with a turboprop, but designed to be easy to service, rig and repair without having to do advanced yoga while bleeding.
