Congrats Michael! Way cool.

You should clean up that cert a bit. ATP SE land and sea would do that. Heh...

I’ve realized these sort of silly challenges make life more interesting. Next up is some helicopter CFI ratings. But what I really want is an A&P; that would be very useful!

The seaplane school at Flagler County … did a lot of 4-square ATP ratings.

I got my ASES in 2005 up in Talkeetna, AK and it was the most fun I've ever had with my clothes on...except for the FAA check ride, that is. That's a long and painful story but, against all odds, I passed.

Congrats! That is one heck of an amazing accomplishment MT!

I saw a blocked Widgeon flying over Northern Virginia Sunday at 3:15, headed, South, and wondered if that was you but I believe it may have been N402E. There aren't many G-44s still flying!

This is great, and well done. Although I expected to see Beech 18 on floats :-)

I only started to fly recently, but I still remember when it was possible to get an ATP in a glider. I see it marked on that amazing certificate. But I hear it's no longer possible.

I asked WipAire about putting a Citation on floats but my idea fell apart when they estimated $3 million! A 275kt seaplane would actually be a very useful airplane for some people.

According to the manufacturer's website, Be-200 cruises at 383 knots maximum, 323 knots economical. So if the aerodynamics of the floats are sufficiently optimized, 275 knots should be attainable.

I dunno about “most useless rating.” The big problem with air travel in the US is lack of runways. Putting runways offshore on the water would alleviate that problem on the coasts and in Chicago. That ATP-MES could be a hot ticket in a few years!

Does the ATP multi engine airplane serve as a instrument rating for single engine?

I’m guessing it serves in the place of “Instrument Airplane”?

I noticed that too. I think it's implied because you can't get an ATP without an instrument rating.
