Guess I'll have to get a SIC in place. Problem is if it was a young guy, or old, my wife might trade me in..... Wow do those wing tips look nice on the 40XR. Bet I'd be able to out climb even old Aubie in his Beech with one, maybe on one engine... :coffee:

Great deals out there on two pilot swept wing jets. Wish I could get the dog typed. And conjur up half a million.

That's a great way to put it. The deals on legacy jets in general are still unbelievable. Some nice stuff between $500K - $1MM.

It would be interesting to look at the all in operating costs of those two pilot jets with a full time pilot compared to a more expensive single pilot jet. The cost of the pilot's salary and load might not be that significant in comparison. Frankly, it's more fun to fly with someone else in the right seat anyway.

Is that the purchase price or the yearly operating budget?

Yea, that's why it would only work if I could get my dog type rated.

And even then it wouldn't..

We know one thing, if these jets are actually being used the economics put them in the boneyard pretty fast. It's the owners that have an emotional attachment, and/or don't fly them a whole lot that keep them going I reckon. Plus the odd nut individual who gets a wild hair and throws caution to the wind because he can pick up a sabreliner 60 for $175,000. ....and gets run out of it in a year and 35 hours and $100k later :D

It's a sickness, sadly I'm one of those unique kinds of idiots :ahhh:

Sure. You can buy a nice Falcon 10 around $500K. Amazing performer.
Others would be Beechjet, Citation III, Lear 31 for less than $1MM.
For single pilot, the Citation ISP is in the $500K +/- range. Not a bad way to get typed and log some time.

Say what you want, but a 1SP can be a good truck to get road time in.

Especially if you hang a pair of FJ44s on it...

Again I say...it takes months to learn how to fly and years to learn when not to fly. Well done.
