Without any numerical analysis it's clear he failed to account for the loss of thrust with forward speed. The detailed breakdown of the fan's ability to a) work, and b) produce enough thrust to lift 4500 pounds vertically, and c) propel the aircraft to 300 KTAS below show that there's not a snowball's chance in hell any of his ideas for this project will work.
Oh yeah?? Well, Peter got a clean-sheet airplane off the ground. How many times have YOU done that? As Teddy Roosevelt said: It is not the critic who counts. . . .Peter serves as a great illustration of why the TR quote and many similar but less eloquent are total hogwash. Sometimes, the critic is wise.

Was this clean sheet airplane a paper plane?

He could put two of the subsonex TJ-100 cruise missile engines on it and advertise a 200nm range. It would fly!

A couple of "Akin's laws of spacecrasft design" seem quite relevant to Raptor NG:
11. Sometimes, the fastest way to get to the end is to throw everything out and start over.
19. The odds are greatly against you being immensely smarter than everyone else in the field. If your analysis says your terminal velocity is twice the speed of light, you may have invented warp drive, but the chances are a lot better that you've screwed up.

You have to give him credit. Coming up with a propulsion system that was less viable than Raptor 1's poorly turbo'd diesel cluster #@&% must not have been easy, but he managed to pull it off!

This is a pretty good analysis of the Raptor NG and the numbers associated with it from an engineer that knows a few things about aircraft and aircraft engines.

What’s the executive summary? Hah! I haven't watched it yet and I can answer that question.

It’s the same video that Lance posted. Apologies that I didn’t notice it.
BLUF - This one has even less of a chance to make it off the ground than the cornfield Raptor.
Engineer two HondaJet engines on it and it could make the advertised speed briefly, until it runs out of fuel. With no changes, if everything works, and with a few bearing modifications, it won’t go faster than your teen’s racing go-kart. The hybrid engine powering the hub-less fans is 50 years old and a close ripoff of one that was patented already by one of the author’s colleagues. The hubless fans design isn’t anything new and the design, as it stands, won’t make half the desired RPM. There is no way on this Green Earth that the aircraft will make it coast-to-coast on that little fuel.
The video was done from an engineering view with detailed calculations. It reminded me of one of several detailed engineering posts on BT. The YouTuber is an engine controller SME.
