I ferried the Extra 300L from KBFI to KBVU the other day. I've been practicing formation with my mentors and doing a couple of photo shoots over Lake Mead and near KBVU. Album here.

Here's a video from a two-ship formation practice flight out of KBVU on Saturday. I hadn't flown formation in several months, so it was a good opportunity to work on the fundamentals. As usual, lead, a retired Air Force fighter pilot and IP, was in his RV-6A. We briefed the flight, which includes a typical sequence of maneuvers, and I joined lead after he taxied past the fuel pumps.

It was a pretty day to fly, with the desert in rare bloom after recent heavy rains.
