I flew those guys back and forth to Thule from the States a couple of times when they were resurecting that airplane. Nice guys, sad outcome.
Re: Greenamyer's Bonanza with the Duke engine in it, my neighbor Jim Huff owned it for a while. Said it was a very impressive machine, 200+ kts all day long with a heck of a climb rate. A question about it though as he said it had an experimental airworthiness cert. How do you get something like that done?
I'd love to stick some of the homebuilders EFIS electronics in my panel as it's so cutting edge and about 1/4 of the cost of the certified gizmos but always hear it's impossible to do. Couldn't my airplane go into the experimental catagory and then I put what I want in it? Who cares about resale value as you can buy older nice airframes like I have for next to nothing all day long.
So is it possible?
