The one major headwind at VanNuys is that VNY and TEB are the busiest airports in the USA without commercial service and without a major training presence (Daytona and Falcon claim those spots)...
At VNY there is a lot of jets and demand.
I am fighting this fight at KMKE, where they put out an RFQ and RFP looking for a developer...and nobody applied. Yet, I'm still moving to a year to year lease. Van Nuys falls under the Los Angeles World Airport authority. Over the years it has been stunted by that relationship and held back from any meaningful strategic planning that benefits the local airport community as opposed to being a step child of the LAX group think cabal.
