I received and installed the rebuilt carb and it immediately started pissing fuel from the carb bowl drain plug. I pulled the plug and noticed the treads were badly damaged. The carb was also leaking from the throat. I called Marvel and sent them pics. I told them I did not want to wait for them to fix the "new" carb and I wanted an exchange for another overhauled unit. They told me to call Airpower and see what they say. I contacted Airpower and sent them the pics. Airpower does not handle warranty claims for Marvel yet they communicated with Marvel and convinced them to reimburse Airpower for an exchange. Airpower then sent me another overhauled carb which is now installed and works fine. This all took less than a week.
Airpower is top notch and Marvel is to be commended for accommodating me. Good for Marvel for making it good through Airpower, but not so good for Marvel letting a piece of junk get out the door. It seems that you did the R&R work yourself, but others would have had to pay the shop twice most likely.

This is what is maddening as a shop owner. It seems over 1/2 the items we install are defective in some way. Shipping, trouble shooting, remove and replacement are not covered under any warranty typically.
This goes for instruments, engines, propellers, radios, paint etc. All of it and vendors from all over the country. I tried LSAs for a while and had the same results but then I was trying to fix defects from all over the world.
Glad you got it resolved without big headaches.

I sent the carburetor off of the O235 from my Aerobat to Marvel 1 1/2 years ago or so for overhaul. I was chasing an engine issue at the time. When I got it back it ran worse than before I sent it to them for overhaul. LyCon had overhauled the engine so they had me send it to them to put it on their flow bench and when I got it back it ran great. Not impressed with Marvel but it may be an isolated case.

From what I have heard from a mechanic it is not an isolated case. This mechanic said he has seen 15 defective carbs from Marvel. Mine clearly was not pressure tested or it would never have made it out of the factory. The 150 fuel flow is 5psi and it leaked as soon as I hooked up the fuel line and turned it on so a pressure test would have revealed the problem.
