Yeah me neither. I thought she’d become an efficient packer after ditching the twin. I may have had a spec of hope if I hadn’t bought that massive shipping tote.
Dang you Tony...

I have only a 7 year old and my wife who travel in our Cirri....unfortunately I'm right there with ya. What is that tote exactly? You ship it Fedex to the FBO? That is a great idea.
We are flying up to Mackinac in an hour or so from KY and staying the weekend. She literally had 5 pairs of dress shorts out for me last night to be put in a case. And while I surely appreciate her being in charge of my and all our clothes....we burn up a lot more runway because of it.

It’s a Husky tote that I believe I bought from Home Depot. It has large wheels on one end and locking handles with holes for zip ties to secure it. It ships really well. Packed full and weighing probably 75 lbs it only cost is about a hundred bucks to ship it one way from OH to SC via FedEx ground. Sure is a whole lot cheaper than getting an airplane twice the size to carry all our stuff! Here's a link to it on Home Depot's site. It's a 45 gallon tote with a 300# carrying capacity: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-45-Ga ... /303099671

when our kids were toddlers we had a PA32, and we used to travel with another family that had a mooney. The other dad was a nice guy but was henpecked constantly. One trip as we were loading up he comes around the hangar corner and says they overpacked, could we take some of their load, I said sure. He heads back to his hangar darn near at a run and I hear him crank the mooney and go. I shrugged that he forgot to bring us the bags, then his wife walks around the corner and says "guess I'm riding with you guys"

Roger, You might want to consider stopping at Boyne City airport (N98) for their $3.64 avgas on your way to or from KMCD. If you do you'll need the code for the terminal door lock: "press 5, then 3&2 together, then 1" because the switch for the pump is in the terminal (all the way back around to the left). The code is in the AFD page for N98 which you can access in Foreflight.
