I've got two questions-

1- I was taught that cross generator starts were ok on the Merlin, so I hit start on the motor I'm starting and turn the generator on the running engine on once I have ignition, maybe 15% RPM; it really pegs the generator, is that ok?

2- I was taught to shut down the ECMs and pressurization switch before shutdown and turn them back on after startup; why do I need to do this, can't I just leave them on?

Thanks!

1. Yes the ammmeter on the running engine will peg and that's ok.

2. No harm done by leaving bleeds on (according to my mechanic) but I shut mine off anyway.

Do you do series starts at all?

Thanks Erwin.

Nope, I will only use series starts when it's freezing and I have no GPU. Is there any other reason to that I'm missing?
