Todd, do you have any knowledge of those baby airconditioners? The 22lb'ers

If that's the number 1 criterion, then the answer to the thread title may be "No."

You might be right, No A/C is a problem

This is the one I would install if I were to do it, but like I said, you are at 10k in 6 minutes and the air that comes from the NACAs nearly blows you out of your seat. This system is $6k and takes about $3k to install unless you do it yourself:

Thank you Todd, back in the saddle. As referenced above, me installing is not an option.

I'm not Todd, but here in the Dalls area, several of the LSA-based flight schools use them, and seem quite happy with them. (Of course, these are all 2-place cabins.) The Rotax engines require a second alternator (generator?) that powers the AC unit.

When I build my EAB, I will definitely have one of these units installed. It's all great to say "once you get to altitude, you'll be cool enough." But around here, the startup / taxi / climb out in 105° temps turns you into a limp, wet noodle before you get there...

Wish I could put one in my Commander 114. (Or any other aftermarket AC system, for that matter. The icebox things are OK, but hauling ice is a PITA.)
