I think that is correct.

The P/N (-001) is definitely non-radar, though it's still a very good unit for displaying traffic and/or Stormscope data. Noticeably better resolution than showing it on a GNS (but not a GTN). We've had several in service for a number of years now and are very satisfied with them.

What are sources for traffic data that it is compatible with? (I have an EX500 in my plane, and traffic from a GTX-345, but they are not wired together.)

GTX345 support is being added with a pending SW update. It will be a paid SW update done through duncan. Will require a couple wires. You need an open RS422 port on the GTX345 for weather (traffic comes in over A429), so if that is being used by something else (FS210) then you have decisions to make.

All ours are paired with NGT-9000s, so can't speak to any other combinations, but certainly trust Derek's input regarding the GTX. Though this SIL is several months old and may have been resolved by now, it appears Avidyne may be having issues with the software update he referred to: https://www.avidyne.com/files/downloads ... 04-008.pdf, so you might want to check on its status before updating.

Is the WX-500 the only system this will work with?
It's a shame so many of the MFD's won't work with a WX-10a to overlay lightning on ADS-B radar data or I'd be seriously considering this.
GLWS

GLWS As far as I know, just WX-500 for lightning.

Yes, I think all the lightning overlay MFD's need the -500. I guess the WX-10a just isn't capable of outputting the grey code needed...? Shame, it would be nice to overlay the lightning data on the radar, you could see the developing edge of the thunderstorm before precipitation starts and give you better avoidance.
