Can your power source/outlet handle the high wattage/amperage of all those devices being simultaneously on? You may trip a breaker.

It has a 15 amp fuse built in but your outlets should also only be able to handle 15 amps. I do understand some can do 20. My Reiff engine preheater with 6 bands, a sump band, and an oil cooler band pulls 3.3 amps. The tug engine block heater pulls .3 amps. Unless you’re trying to power some huge electrical device, it will work well for you.

Consider this. I live 15 miles round trip from my airport. The 2020 General Services Administration (GSA) publishes a mileage rate that includes gas, and wear and tear on a generic vehicle of $0.57 per mile. So it costs me $8.55 per round trip just on my vehicle round trip. Now, what is your time worth? $20? $30? $40? $50 an hour? It's a 30 minute round trip just driving. Say you have to drive that to go plug your airplane in the night before. That costs you $40 an hour plus $8.55 for your vehicle. What is the difference between a 2 channel and a 4 channel model?

Can the different plug in cords be controlled individually?

Hi Bob,

A 2 channel has two power cords and a 4 channel has four power cords. Each power cord can individually be switched on or off. You can also set automation settings such as a low temperature or a calendar date. This is all done via the Apple or Android smartphone app.

FYI

I ordered a two outlet system from Jim last week, it shipped the same day and arrived a couple of days later.

Installed and operational in a few minutes to replace a old Switchbox 2G that worked OK, but is no longer supported by T-Mobile.

Warming the engines this morning using the app to turn on the heaters is so much nicer than using a text message.

Received my Switcheon promptly. In setting it up here on a Sunday afternoon at my hangar, I had a question. I called the Switcheon office and left a message. Four minutes later, James called back, answered my (stupid) question, and patiently walked me thru the app. In another 5 minutes, it was on line and operating beautifully.

You will not have a problem. I should have given the box the 5 minutes it needed to connect wirelessly and download its software update, all automatically on plugging it in.

Instant on and instant off after pushing the iPhone app prompts. I am very pleased to finally have a device that works so well.
