Regards, Lew Gage Thank you, Lew. I didn't know that. Is drilling out the mounting holes a big deal? Can any good cylinder shop do it?

I would not overhaul or top an E or IO 470K engine with anything but new cylinders or overhauled first run new series cylinders. All of the old 727 casting cylinders have a lot of hours on them and are either cracked or been welded and will crack again. New is hard to beat.

A few of mine are the 727 on my IO 470 K.
I just dont know if there are other things involved that might make then not suitable.
Just throwing that out there as a possible other option to pursue.
Part out the cylinder kits and accessories and get the same money (or better).
Again, hate to see this happen to a complete engine. The E cylinders have all 7/16 inch attachment studs and through bolts. The IO470K has 1/2 inch through bolts. The holes for the through bolts could be drilled out but the PNs for the cylinders are different. Otherwise the cylinders are the same. Regards, Lew Gage

With all due respect Lew, not all 727 cylinders that are floating around out in the universe are junk nor have all been welded on there are some exceptions and just so happens there are six healthy cylinders on the engine I am trying to sell, I understand if someone was majoring an engine and given the choice of new vs. Overhauled well that is a no Brainer just trying to sell a healthy engine here that is complete with all accesories for a fair price

I can't believe this is still for sale. And at that price. If I had the money I would have scooped it up a long time ago to keep as a spare. Kudos to the seller for trying to keep it "in the family" so-to-speak, and not offering it up to the experimental guys. I sure hope this goes to a good home before he's forced down that route.

I just bought an engine or I would have jumped on this.
Great deal for someone here!
