Awesome! What's the maintenance like, as in, is a prospective buyer best off being able to perform a majority of maintenance themselves?

I've also got a D50E and maintain it like any other owner would with a local shop. The only mx I do is minor cosmetic stuff, cleaning and the odd oil change. Annuals average around 8k per year.

If you're mechanically inclined and willing, the Twin Bonanza is generally very easy to work on. Most (but not all, of course) things are pretty big and easy to access. It was built in part to be field maintained by the military, and you can see that in the design. I moved from a Twin Bonanza to a Duke, and the Duke is meaningfully more difficult to work on just because everything is more tightly packed.

Sure the more you can do your self the better off you are. Im an A/P IA and I still would enlist others to help with the annual. But you know the more you keep up with and keep top notch the less your overall costs are. Just like any airplane. I had no problem taking it over the ocean several times. I have a hanger in my back yard so it's easy to go tinker on it as much as I want. I don't find its that much more than the 195 I had other than twice the oil/filters and such.

One of the things that makes TwinBos easy to work on is that they’re BIG. Here’s me in one of the main gear bays. I’m sitting comfortably on a creeper. The engine bays are also huge. You could smuggle a dead body in there. Of course that means you’ll need a big hangar :-)

Well... Clean Gear is a thing.... This is going in on the annual which marks gear #3 in the overhaul lineup.
I am not embarrassed to say that I have a college aviation student on retainer to wipe down my airplane every time it flys, with specific attention to the gear. You know... in case I need a surface to eat on at the hanger and I am out of flatware...
Clean airplanes for the win.

PS - the college kid is a budding pro and he has 50 hours + in the t bone and loves them like a true zealot. Convert them while they are young etc.
