6000 ish TT 300 ish since Western Skyways IO-470s w/ GAMIs 300 ish since new Hartzell props Doing comprehensive annual now
2020 Full Restoration over 4,000 hours of labor. New paint new floor boards new luxury interior new glass new cowlings new rubber new fabric new brakes fuel tanks resealed new wiring new garmin glass instrument panel with all the options autopilot digital engine gauges freon air conditioning zero corrosion
Probably the nicest, lightest, best Grumman Widgeon in the world. It's as reliable as a Baron at this point. These go about 150kts at cruise and hold about 1200 lbs of stuff with full fuel (108 gallons). It's a two finger delight to fly and lands on the ground like a Piper Cub. It's easy on the water but definitely need training to master it. There are no quirky unobtanium parts on the Widgeon; it's mostly stock off the shelf items. I'm keeping the N Number Training available lots of spare parts included (new actuators, new brakes, new wheels, etc.)
I'm selling it because I just don't have enough time to use it anymore.
$600K. If you tried to do this yourself you would spend over 1 million and years of misery.

I can not believe N1MT (the plane, not the N Number) is up for sale. I have enjoyed the posts about the Widgeon, never thought I would see Doc Tarver sell his trusty Widgeon, and certainly hope the new caretaker continues to post.
Mike, you have inspired a few people to restore their Widgeons and keep them flying. The 470s look better on a Widgeon than they ever would on an airboat.
Hopefully the new owner posts pictures of them having plenty of fun.

Gorgeous MT. The price in your first post must have been because you dropped your readers.. This looks so cool. Chuck Jill says no, kids say no and Tom Hauge says he(( no.

I ferried this Widgeon from Walla Walla WA to Florida with Mike before the restoration and have flown in it since. It’s much nicer than the pictures. I’m surprised to see him selling. I figured it would be the toy to keep. GLWTS

Sounds like he will be keeping the plane for now.
Never heard of something so silly. Just as I don't want pictures of my house all over the internet, I really don't want pictures of this plane public. Pictures don't sell a plane like this. It's a one of a kind new Widgeon. Anyone serious is going to come visit. Respect the concern.

Chester Lawson had one next door with early Cessna 310 O470s. The radial version was a real pig in comparison.

This has to be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I can't believe you're selling it after all that work - if it's not being used I'd think you'd put it in a plastic bubble and preserve it for a later phase of your life
