Greetings everyone! My name is Jon Haerter from Vail, Co, and I received my pilot certificate last month. I wanted to send out my first post to the forum as the proud new owner of N87JS. She's a 1988 B36tc that was purchased from Axis Jet Sacramento, CA. Thanks Dan Kimmel for making this happen! I have had it exactly 1 week, and have logged 24.6 hours already! Not sure my credit card company will keep my card active, as I have fueled at over 10 different airports in 1 week! Waiting to hear from the fraud dept. Flew from KEGE to KSLC this morning, and got my first taste of Class Bravo airspace. Besides getting yelled at for taking a left on taxiway Q (as instructed, but controller meant to say right on Q) all was well. I am very thankful that I am part of the Bonanza family, and I now know what people were telling me about the "feel" of beech product compared to Cessna. I get it......Besides my wife telling me that I am slightly obsessed with my new mistress "Juliet", I have full support from my family.....which is nice! Also, Thanks to Retired USAF Stealth F117 and U2 pilot Tim Decker for getting my first 11 hours of IOE. Google this guy and check out his aerobatic skills......Crazy good! Here are some pics.....

Thanks guys! I got the B36 since Vail is the center of our "hub", MN, Wis, AZ, CA and SD will all be flights that I will be doing with the family and friends.........Saw 225 KTS today on the way home from KSLC with a nice push from the west. I officially hooked my daughters with their first flight to Montrose, CO for breakfast and their favorite part of the trip........candy and a balsa wood airplane from the FBO....More pics to come......

What a perfect fit for such a beautiful place to live and fly.
I used to fly a 757 out of Vail and loved every trip, even the ones in the snow.
The only "downside" for you now is that there isn't much room for upward movement. You've already got the best.
Cheers,

Welcome to the forum, Jon. Nice bird. Too bad you have those damn mountains getting in the way of your view of the flat lands.
