Hello everyone,

I'm thrilled to finally be able to focus on getting my license, at 50 years of age.

About me: I live in Springfield, Missouri and work in professional services for a software company.

I grew up with planes. My step-dad had Cessnas: a 152 and a 172, then a 182.

My Dad was a former bomber pilot, got trained but did not see action at the very end of WWII. He flew a Baron, then a Duke B60, then finally went to a Commander 690B before retiring from flying.

I'm partial to Beechcraft, which is why I'm on here - hoping to soak up as much information as I can prior to buying! - and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.

All best -- Tim

Welcome Tim!

Dreaming is highly encouraged here

If you update your profile to include your location, you would probably get location-specific advice on learning to fly, plus chances to go fly with local BTers, info on aviation related get togethers, etc.

Tim -

You are among friends here.

Welcome aboard. Buy a Beech. We'll help you spend your money.

We are VERY good at that.

Thanks all. Really nice to be here. Feels like home, in a sense.

Robert, for some reason I seem to do pretty well at that all by myself! I'm actually hoping to find some ways to NOT spend money, ie how best to avoid large, unpleasant surprises on the F33A i think I want. For example...

But that's still a ways off. In the meantime, I'm all ears.

Tim,

Welcome. I finally (after dreaming my whole life) got my PPL at 49. Age is no limitation.
