Having lurked, please let me briefly introduce myself.
A Virginia Beach native, I soloed a J-3 in '64, joined the Air Force in '68, and flew the F-100D, AT-33, AT-38, F-4C/D, F-5E, F-16A, and Mirage V. Retired (Lt Col) and flew the MD-80 for 18 years at DCA and LGA with American Airlines. Jane and I live at Deep Creek Lake in western MD and own a Mooney 231 (530W, Aspen) based at 2G4, thus I hope you’re not adverse to a slight dilution of the gene pool.
You have a great site, with relevant topics, expertise, and civility. I hope to occasionally participate. As directed, I’ve attached pictures.
Thanks, Dick Schwartz

Welcome Dick, I look forward to your contributions. Nice Mooney . . . but your prop is drooping.

Thanks, Dick Schwartz All newcomers take note! This is how to introduce yourself! Dick, having just read the Fighter Pilot book discussed in another thread and seeing you are F-4C/D experienced, did you have any run in's with then Col. Olds? Welcome to the board and look forward to your "experience" in aviation influencing us younger types.

"...did you have any run in's with then Col. Olds?" Larkin, unfortunately, the only time we crossed paths was in the O Club at Alamogordo, NM, where he taught me a thing or two about arm wrestling. He was one of the greatest of his generation--an inspiring leader in two wars. I did, however, 40 years ago, fly low levels by Deridder out of England AFB, Alexandria, terminating at the Ft Polk and England gunnery ranges.

Hi Dick, I went through officer training at Lackland (Medina) in 1988. Probably about the time you retired. I left Eglin AFB in 2000 as my last station. Our common platforms were 38s and Vipers. I wish I had gotten the chance to fly in a double ugly but it was not in the cards Welcome, Scott
