I guess the introductions forum is the most appropriate place to introduce our new N-number. About 18 months after the idea first came to me, the number is now painted on the side of our Bonanza. This one is pretty easy to remember, my BT friends. So if you hear or see me, I expect a BT bro shout out. Funny thing is, I've been thinking about saying this number for a long time. Yet twice on my flight home, I responded to ATC with my old number, catching myself half way through and sounding like an idiot. Muscle memory is hard to overcome. Better pics to follow.

Were you just lucky, or did it take great effort to get that registration?

If you were going to spend 30 large ones on a new G-something.. Buying a 500 grand bonanza or a 50k cub just to snatch the number is a valid move!

Indeed, he didn't buy a gulf stream by making poor business decisions.

Thanks guys. The actual story of how I obtained the number is rather long and twisting. I really need to sit and pen an article someday. In short, what started as a simple Google search became somewhat of an obsession, working on it almost every evening. My quest ended 4 months later as I finally made contact with the reclusive & very interesting owner on a small island in Vanuatu. I had tracked the gentleman down to the end of the earth and got him to release it (no cost). I already had a broker call interested in the number. Without much thinking I told him $50k. But since then I've reconsidered, quite glad he didn't bite. I really like it and want to use it. I can get by without the extra cash, for now. But you're right. To someone buying a G-V for 50 million, $100k is chump change. The person wanting this number will be buying a very expensive '67 V35. Yes the windows are CSOBeech cling tint. Works great in the Florida sun. James
