Wow, you guys are great to "listen" to! I've enjoyed the posts of all the "old heads" out there sharing their collective knowledge about Barons, Bonanzas, Debs, etc. I am actively seeking my first airplane after flying professionally for over 40 years in in the airlines, military, and general aviation. Of course I want a Beech, although I did (for a short time) consider Mooney and Piper, but the superior construction of the Beech aircraft has forever put those thoughts aside.
I have learned so much during the last two weeks of reading the threads from you guys and I thank you all so much! I just hope it doesn't take me 6 months to find a plane.

Ya.... give us some feedback and we'll spend your money.

Give us a budget.... within reason, and if you'd spend more for a much better value.

What is your mission? Number of passengers, distance, location, and destinations.

And, perhaps an estimate of your yearly GA flights.

A few thoughts..... as a pro, you're used to staying current and a Baron makes an excellent bargain with a few benefits if it fits your mission. And often a Baron comes with a bit more equipment. It offers some advantages for night, over water, loading, etc. But costs more per mile to operate. If just for Sunday lunch, an inexpensive Bo will do the job.... and lots of choices in between.

If you're not, you need to join ABS... the tech/training support and stuff is well worth it.

My reco: keep reading..... don't be in a hurry. You will soon formulate your own list of "gotta haves" and "gotta avoid".

Get the Larry Ball Bonanza books that will list every model and year and what changes occurred. It will help narrow your focus.
