Hello all you beeches!
My name is Scott, and I live in Louisville, KY (KLOU), have 750 hours TT which is mostly in Diamonds, Cirri, Cessna 182s but looking to buy a HP/Complex bird, and after looking around for a few weeks, find myself drawn to Bonanzas (esp the V35). I would LOVE some feedback from owners as to which model to gravitate towards, run from or any advise at all! Looking forward to meeting you all and hearing some pertinent, and entertaining, commentary.

Take care.
Scott Gagel

Easiest transion would be to a Debonair. Straight tail and alot of bang for the buck! Good solid tried and true aircraft and to my knowlege-no complaints. The V-tail same HP is - in my opinion a little faster. Most basic models come with 225HP standard. Any of the single beaches with the 260, 285 or 300 HP 4 place aircraft are impressive to any single engine land pilot. Of course the 300 HP A-36 is premium single engine Beech. You might look at "Aviation Consumers Used Aircraft Guide" as a useful source. Also "What to fly.com" may shed some light. Whats your budget?, Mission requirements? operating cost budget? Makes a difference on what to buy! There is a 1966 C33A on BT that would be a great airplane to look at!

+1 on Mission: what do you plan to carry, and how far do you need to go? Since the Bonanza fleet was in production for many years, there are lots of add-ons and many have been heavily upgraded.

A pair of good books are by Larry Ball, former sales manager for Beech.
"Those Incomparable Bonanzas" describes, model by model, through about 1972 (V35B)
"They Called Me Mr. Bonanza", describes each model after 1972 through the early 1990s.

The V-tail is the hot rod, the 36 the hauler. The 33 is more like the 35 and the 36.

And welcome. I transitioned from an Arrow to my V35B 3 years ago and am still impressed every time I take off.

Welcome Scott !

Your story grabbed my attention. Trained in Cessna 150 and 172. Transitioned to Cirrus and got my ifr in a 20. Spent the next 300 hrs in a rental 22. Great plane and good times. Could not get V tail Bo's out my head and heart. Went for it 6 weeks ago. Brought home the prettiest 69 V35A. To each their own of course. Feel free to pm me with anything i can share from my jouney. It is a scary leap but when i slide the hangar door open, its the most amazing feeling.

Bryan
