Hello all. At the recommendation of member Spike Cutler I have joined this forum today. For 6 years I have been a very satisfied Mooney M20J owner, but for a number of reasons I want to consider moving to a Baron.
I have an ATP certificate with about 2500 hours. I only have about 300 hours multi with most of that in Lear 24/25/35 (weird, I know).
I live on the east side of Atlanta and am based at 9A1, Covington Municipal.
I look forward to learning more about Beechcraft and those that fly them. Thanks for having me.
Lance

Welcome aboard Lance! What kind of missions are you planning for the Baron. All weather, high altitude, range of avg. trip, etc. A little more information on your useage and BT members can give you better information on the model of Baron that meets your requirements.

I assume you mean the Baron, when/if I get one and not my Mooney :D

My missions are a mixed bag. From Atlanta area I've been to Houston, Dallas, Memphis, Chicago, Las Vegas, New York, a bunch of places in between as well as local flights for that expensive hamburger. Usage is likely between 100 - 150 hours per year. I don't mind sucking on O2 when I can take advantage of winds.

Although I don't normally have a bunch of passengers, the cabin of the 58 helps justify the upgrade.

Here's my current ride. Reasonably fast, reasonably comfortable, very economical...but I know, it's not a Beechcraft.

Mooney's are great airplanes. Fast and economical but you will appreciate the added speed, room, range, weather handling and load carrying capacity of a Baron. Did most of my instrument training in a '68 Exec.

Lance, welcome but I got to admit that I miss my Mooney. If I was you I might just hold on to it if you can. You might find yourself wishing you never got rid of it in the first place. As fuel keeps rising, the value of your plane will too.
