Hello y’all! Been flying Ag for 21 years in 502 602 and the big 16,000 pound single engine 802 and of course the trusty ol V35. I finally splurged and got an E model 90. Yes, I’m completely deaf since infant. But doesn’t affect a thing. Very happy to be here!

Hi Aaron, I'm a friend of Henry Kisor whose book on deaf VFR flying you've likely read.
I know how Henry dealt with his non-hearing status while VFR. How do you handle IFR comms?

At this point I’m strictly vfr but working on my ifr rating now. The CPDLC via the Garmin 750xi will allow me to fly IFR once I’m logged in above 16,000’. Now…. Getting up to 16,000’ when it’s not vfr is the barrier for now….. will be working on that part.

Keep the greasy side down, and maybe I'll see you around sometime! Deaf is a small world, and GA makes it even smaller! Oh that is cool! Yes it is a small world and it certainly would be fun to bump into you somewhere

Oh I'm already working on something that could revolutionize how communication is done in the cockpit. Hopefully i'll have a working prototype ready in a few months.
