I will be upgrading the Avionics to gain some more useful load and easy of use. The cosmetics are pretty darn good on this bird. I may add spoilers and Aft strakes at some point. It has had very good maintanance but I wait until the annual is completed in Oct before is start blowing a lot on goodies...

Can you expand on that a bit Tony? What avionics are you planning on replacing and how much UL will you gain. I've also not heard much about the spoilers and strakes for 421s. What do they do for you?

The spoilers are two fold in the case of the B model of the 421. First on all 421 you want to be delicate with power reductions from altitude. When ATC keeps you up high until the last moments and then dumps you down you can deploy the spoilers and head down hill without more drastic power reductions....On the B model with the lower VLE you can do the above and get to VLE easier.
The Strakes do give you better yaw stability, especially on one engine. They are suppose to give you 5-7 kts TAS...

What's the Vle on a B? Spoilers are definitely not needed on a C model with a 176kts gear extension speed... Robert
