Hey all! I'm a new member, joined a little over a month ago but saved the introduction until now. I just picked up my late grandfather's M35 Bonanza. N # is N11GG and she is a beauty! He owned it from 1986 (year I was born) until 1994. I don't remember it much although my parents have pictures of me sitting in it and on the wing when I was a toddler. The plane is extremely important to our family and my grandma had a near heart attack when she found out that I got it! We like to say that airplane inspired quite a few pilots in our family, there are 9 of us flying B767s all the way down to Piper Cubs, we've done it all (almost).
A little about myself. I'm an officer in the Air Force going to school for my MBA, will be moving from Monterey to Ohio here in January. I plan on taking a month of leave and flying all over the U.S. to get my appetite oversaturated with skiing so I won't miss it when I land in the flat lands. Planning on going to Lake Tahoe, Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado.
N11GG is in great shape! Compliments to the previous owners for really taking care of her! She was repainted in 01, new interior in 01, new avionics between 01 and 03. It has a Garmin 530 w traffic, Stec 50, HSI and lots of mods. Engine was a factory reman in 99 but will need to be overhauled within the next 5 years. A 6 month vacation to Afghanistan will take care of that!
Oh yes, if anyone is interested in a 1972 Cessna 172L, I have one for sale on Trade A Plane, Controller, and Barnstormers. $28K although negotiatable - N7082Q.
Happy flying!
James
