Hello fellow BeechTalkers! My name is Eric Volk and I'm a new pilot and Bonanza owner from Baltimore, Maryland. After lurking around BeechTalk for several months, I'm finally getting around to posting this intro thanks to well deserved prompting from Bob Schulte and Paul McCracken. So, thanks guys! I've always had a strong interest in flying but until recently, never had the time or the resources to make it happen. So last August I decided to make a longtime dream a reality. I got my PPL in November and bought a 1967 V35A in January. In the process of researching airplanes, I came across BeechTalk. Initially, I was very interested in the Cirrus but then had the opportunity to fly in a Bonanza. Well, you know the rest of the story! On BeechTalk, I found a bunch of great info. I distinctly remember one post that said, "get Paul McCracken to do your prebuy and Tom Johnson to do your insurance." So when I found the plane I wanted, that's exactly what I did. I couldn't be any happier with those recommendations. The enjoyment and the challenge of flying this airplane is awesome. I'm currently closing in on my instrument rating and looking forward to safely using my Bonanza to its full potential. One of my missions includes flying to our cottage in Canada. By car 15 hrs, by Bonanza 3.5 hrs. When I'm not flying I'm either doing root canals (Endodontist), coaching my kids, or trying to convince my wife that all the time and money I'm spending on flying will be beneficial to both of us! I'm looking forward to getting to know more of you. Eric

Congratulations and welcome aboard. It's a beautiful airplane, but of course I'm very partial. Keep us posted on your progress and adventures.
Good Luck, Burns

He and his beautiful bride are members here and live in the Baltimore area. Great folks and they sure have a pretty A36. Dean, Thanks for the Welcome. I'll see if I can find Tony. Eric

What a great airplane and intro. You clearly do things first class.
I always thought an "S" was in my future when I buy a "real" airplane, but I think it might just have to be a 67-69 instead.
Good luck - I have also been working to complete an instrument rating that has been in the works for too long. I will finish it up in a matter of a couple more weeks I think.
Good luck,
-MO Mark- Good luck on getting your instrument rating. Thanks for the welcome. Eric

I saw that one on Carolina's website and was planning to buy it the next day...called and the guy said "that sold 2 weeks ago, didn't know it was still on the website". Awesome plane. Mark- I saw the plane within an hour after it was placed for sale online. I had been regularly checking all the websites and feel I got pretty lucky to find it. Thanks for the welcome. Eric
